Short description
Palm Springs is a 2020 comedy directed by Max Barbakow from a screenplay by Andy Siara. At a wedding near the desert resort town of Palm Springs, Nyles, a laid-back guest in shorts and a Hawaiian shirt, meets Sarah, the bride's older sister and reluctant maid of honor. The two hit it off after he rescues her from a disastrous toast, but their night takes an unexpected turn when Sarah follows him into a cave and wakes up to find the same day starting over. Stuck repeating the wedding endlessly, the pair begin using their situation to cause trouble at the celebration, an arrangement complicated by Nyles's companion Roy, who is caught in the same loop. Andy Samberg plays Nyles, Cristin Milioti plays Sarah, and J.K. Simmons appears as Roy, with Peter Gallagher, Meredith Hagner and Camila Mendes in supporting roles.
The film was produced by Limelight, The Lonely Island and Sun Entertainment Culture Los Angeles, with Akiva Schaffer, Andy Samberg and Jorma Taccone among the producers. Made for a modest 5 million dollars, it was the first feature Barbakow directed, followed by Brothers in 2024, and it runs 90 minutes.
