Cellar Dweller

Cellar Dweller is a horror fantasy film about a comic book artist whose drawings bring a monster to life. In the 1950s, Colin Childress creates a horror comic called Cellar Dweller, adding occult text to his artwork, and the creature he depicts becomes real and kills him. Thirty years later, a young artist named Whitney Taylor arrives at the house, now part of an artists' colony, and takes over the basement studio where Childress once worked. A fan of his comics, she makes the same mistake he did and unleashes the creature again, putting herself and the other residents in danger.

The film was released in 1988 and runs 77 minutes. It was directed by John Carl Buechler, whose earlier credits include The Dungeonmaster, Troll and Friday the 13th Part VII - The New Blood, making it the fourth of the six features listed in his directing career. Don Mancini wrote the screenplay, and Bob Wynn produced it for Empire Pictures.
