The Edelweiss Pirates

Set in Cologne toward the end of the Second World War, this historical drama follows a group of young anti-Nazi rebels known as the Edelweiss Pirates. In a city reduced to ruins, these youths resist the regime by clashing with the Hitler Youth and spreading anti-war messages. The story focuses on brothers Karl and Peter, who struggle to survive after losing their mother and older brother. Alongside a fugitive prisoner named Hans, they engage in sabotage and resistance. When the Gestapo captures them, Karl faces a desperate choice between loyalty to his comrades and betraying the group to save his brother from execution.

Directed by Niko von Glasow, this project followed his 1991 film Wedding Guests. The screenplay was co-written by Glasow and Kiki von Glasow.
