Close to the Horizon

Close to the Horizon is a German romantic drama about Jessica, an optimistic eighteen-year-old with a promising future. Her life changes when she falls in love with Danny, a confident and attractive young man. As their relationship develops, Jessica discovers that Danny's outward success is a facade masking a painful secret and a troubled past. The couple must face social prejudices and a race against time, leading Jessica to decide if she will fight for a love that may not have a long-term future.

The film was directed by Tim Trachte, following his 2016 work Vampire Sisters 3: Journey to Transylvania and preceding his 2024 film Un/Dressed. The screenplay was written by Ariane Schröder. The lead roles are played by Luna Wedler as Jessica and Jannik Schümann as Danny, with a supporting cast that includes Luise Befort, Victoria Mayer, Stephan Kampwirth, and Denis Moschitto.
