Thirteen at Dinner

Hercule Poirot is drawn into a case involving the American actress Jane Wilkinson, who wants to divorce her husband, Lord Edgware, but finds him unwilling to agree. When the lord is found dead soon afterward, the investigation turns on the conflicting accounts and alibis surrounding his household and the theatrical world in which his wife moves. Poirot must work through the various claims to identify the killer before anyone else is harmed.

The film is a 1985 television production directed by Lou Antonio from a screenplay by Rod Browning, with Neil Hartley producing for CBS Entertainment Productions and Warner Bros. Television. Peter Ustinov plays Poirot, Faye Dunaway appears as Jane Wilkinson, David Suchet plays Inspector Japp, Jonathan Cecil is Captain Hastings, and Bill Nighy and Diane Keen are among the credited cast of twenty-five. The story adapts Agatha Christie's novel Lord Edgware Dies.
