Set in the future, this science fiction action film follows Atlas Shepherd, a counterterrorism analyst who harbors a deep hatred for artificial intelligence. Her distrust stems from a past robot uprising led by an AI terrorist who killed her mother. When a mission to capture a rogue android leads her to a hostile planet in the Andromeda Galaxy, an accident leaves her stranded on the surface. To survive and complete her objective, she is forced to rely on the advanced AI integrated into her combat mech, the very technology she despises.

Directed by Brad Peyton, this is the sixth feature film in his career, following works such as San Andreas and Rampage. The movie stars Jennifer Lopez as the lead character, appearing alongside Simu Liu and Sterling K. Brown. Produced by Berlanti Productions, Safehouse Pictures, Nuyorican Productions, and ASAP Entertainment, the project had a budget of 100 million USD.
