Chemical Hearts

Henry Page is a high school senior who has never been in love, though he thinks of himself as a hopeless romantic waiting for something singular. He keeps busy with the school newspaper, and that routine holds until Grace Town arrives as a new student. When the two are asked to work together on the paper, Henry is drawn to her, and the connection that forms changes how he sees himself.

Chemical Hearts is a 2020 American drama directed by Richard Tanne, who also wrote the screenplay and produced alongside Alex Saks. It comes after Tanne's earlier work as director. The film is based on Krystal Sutherland's novel of the same name and was made by Awesomeness Films with Big Indie Pictures and Page Fifty-Four Pictures. Austin Abrams plays Henry opposite Lili Reinhart as Grace, with supporting turns from Sarah Jones, Bruce Altman, Adhir Kalyan and Coral Peña. It runs 93 minutes.

On IMDb the film holds a 6.3 rating from around 18,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 7.3 from roughly 1,170 votes. A critics' rating of 5.7 from 97 reviews places it below the audience scores on both platforms.
