All My Life centers on Jennifer Carter and Solomon Chau, a young couple who meet by chance when a friend of Sol's tries to chat up Jen. The two instead connect with each other, and their relationship develops quickly: they move in together, and Sol eventually proposes, with a summer wedding planned. Their plans are upended when Sol is diagnosed with terminal liver cancer in December, leaving him with limited time. Rather than abandon the wedding, the couple and their families and friends rush to arrange the ceremony sooner, with an online fundraising campaign drawing support from strangers around the world. The film is based on a true story.
Marc Meyers directed the film from a screenplay by Todd Rosenberg, with Todd Garner and Sean Robins producing. It is Meyers's third feature, following How He Fell in Love in 2015 and My Friend Dahmer in 2017, and it shares its release year with Human Capital and We Summon the Darkness. Jessica Rothe and Harry Shum Jr. lead the cast as Jennifer and Solomon, supported by Michael Masini, Chrissie Fit, Greg Vrotsos and Ever Carradine among 25 credited cast members.
Made for a budget of 25 million dollars, the film took in about 2 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds a rating of 6.3 from around 7,000 votes, while on TMDB it rates 7.7 from 521 votes, a notably warmer response from that audience.
