Bliss

Joseph and Maria appear to be a happy newlywed couple, but their marriage is in trouble. When Joseph learns that his wife has been seeing Baltazar, a mysterious man who teaches about love and sexuality, he decides to seek out the man himself rather than give up on the relationship. What follows draws both of them into an exploration of desire, memory and the secrets Maria has kept from her husband.

Bliss is a Canadian-American drama directed by Lance Young, who also wrote the screenplay; Allyn Stewart produced. Craig Sheffer and Sheryl Lee play the couple, with Terence Stamp as Baltazar. The supporting cast includes Casey Siemaszko, Spalding Gray and Lois Chiles. The film runs 103 minutes and was released in April 1997. It is Young's first feature film as director.
