Trauma Center is an action thriller set in Puerto Rico. Madison Taylor, a witness to the murder of a colleague by corrupt police officers, is shot during the attack and taken to a San Juan hospital. There she is placed under the protection of Lieutenant Steve Wakes, a veteran detective already investigating the killing of his partner and an informant. Wakes moves her to a sealed floor of the hospital, but the officers responsible are not deterred, and Madison must survive a night of pursuit while the detective works to bring them down.
Matt Eskandari directed the film, his third feature after The Gauntlet and 12 Feet Deep, from a screenplay by Paul J. Da Silva. It was produced by George Furla, Randall Emmett and Luillo Ruiz. Nicky Whelan plays Madison, with Bruce Willis as Wakes, Steve Guttenberg as Dr. Jones, and Tito Ortiz, Texas Battle and Roman Mitichyan among the supporting cast.
Released in December 2019, the film runs 87 minutes and was made in Puerto Rico and the United States. On IMDb it holds a rating of 4 out of 10 from around 12,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 5.4 out of 10 from roughly 410 votes. The larger IMDb sample points to a broadly unfavorable response, and the two figures together indicate limited audience approval.
