Short description
House of Gucci is a crime drama about Patrizia Reggiani, a woman from a modest background who marries Maurizio Gucci, an heir to the Italian fashion house. Her ambition draws her into the family's internal struggles over control of the business, setting off a chain of betrayal and resentment that ends in murder. The story unfolds against the Gucci empire's glamorous public image, with the family's feuds playing out behind it.
Ridley Scott directed the film, the thirtieth of thirty-four he has directed in chronological order, arriving between The Last Duel and Napoleon. The screenplay is by Becky Johnston and Roberto Bentivegna, and Scott produced with Mark Huffam and Giannina Facio. Lady Gaga plays Patrizia and Adam Driver plays Maurizio, with Al Pacino as Aldo Gucci, Jeremy Irons as Rodolfo Gucci, Jared Leto as Paolo Gucci and Jack Huston as Domenico De Sole. It runs 158 minutes and was made for 75 million USD, earning 153 million USD worldwide.
On IMDb, the film holds a 6.2 rating from 370 critics' reviews, while on TMDB it has a 6.6 rating from 3,527 votes, placing the two closer together than is typical. Made across the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States, it belongs to the crime, drama and history genres.

- Lady Gaga’s now famous and popular line about father, son, and the House of Gucci was an improvisation from the original trailer, which was shown before the film’s release.
- The film revolves around the brothers Aldo and Rodolfo Gucci, as well as their sons, Paolo and Maurizio, respectively, but says nothing about the other Guccis who make up a significant part of the family. Guccio Gucci (1881-1953), the founder of the family, had six children in total: Enzo (1904-1913), Vasco (1907-1975, died without children), Ugo (1899-1973), Aldo (1905-1990) and Rodolfo (1912-1983) and one daughter, Grimalda (1903-1989). Ugo had a daughter, Luciana (1924-2014), who died childless. The film does not mention this, but Aldo had three sons from his wife Olwen Price: Giorgio (1921-2020), Paolo (1931-1995) and Roberto (1932-2009) and an illegitimate daughter, Patricia (born to Yvonne Moschetto), who in turn became the mother of Alexandra, Victoria and Isabella. The film also does not mention that Paolo had five daughters: two from his first wife Yvonne Moschetto (Elisabetta and Patricia), one from his second wife Jenny Garwood (Gemma) and two more born to Penny Armstrong out of wedlock (Alyssa and Gabrielle). Conflicts were common among the various members of the Gucci family over the right to manage the family empire.
- At one time or another, Angelina Jolie, Anne Hathaway, Marion Cotillard, Penelope Cruz, Margot Robbie, and Natalie Portman were considered for the role of Patricia.
