Bye Bye Morons

Suze Trappet, a 43-year-old hairdresser, learns she is seriously ill, and she decides to use what time she has to find the child she was forced to give up when she was fifteen. Her search leads her into the maze of official records, where she meets Jean-Baptiste Cuchas, known as JB, a man around fifty who is burned out and adrift, and Serge Blin, a blind archivist whose enthusiasm runs well ahead of events. The three set off together across the city, an odd group chasing a paper trail that others have long since stopped caring about.

Albert Dupontel directed and wrote the film, which followed See You Up There (2017) in his filmography and was produced by Catherine Bozorgan. Virginie Efira plays Suze, with Dupontel himself as JB and Nicolas Marié as Blin; Jackie Berroyer, Philippe Uchan and Bastien Ughetto appear among the 32 credited cast members. Made for a budget of around 10 million USD, it took about 17 million USD worldwide.

On IMDb it holds 6.7/10 from roughly 7,900 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 7.2/10 from around 970 votes. A critics' rating of 4.9/10 from 17 reviews is noticeably below those audience figures.
