Hollywood Invasion

Hollywood Invasion is a documentary that examines Italy, Europe, and America during the Dolce Vita era. Using rare and previously unreleased footage from the NBC Archives in New York, the film explores the cultural, political, and social transformations affecting Italy and its cinema between 1950 and 1980. It specifically focuses on the period of Hollywood on the Tiber, detailing the relationship between Cinecittà and the broader American and European film industries.

Directed and written by Marco Spagnoli, the film was released in 2011. Within the director's body of work, it follows his 2009 film Hollywood sul Tevere and precedes several projects released between 2025 and 2026. Produced by NBC Universal Global Networks, the documentary features a credited cast of 26 people. This includes appearances by Federico Fellini, Peter Ustinov, and Groucho Marx as themselves, alongside archive footage of Sophia Loren, María Callas, and Jack Lemmon.
