Stanley has spent 38 years working nights at a fast food restaurant, and now he is preparing for his last weekend on the job. Before he can leave, he is asked to train Jevon, the young man hired to replace him. Jevon is a gifted writer whose blunt, provocative manner keeps landing him in trouble, and the two have almost nothing in common. Over the course of Stanley's final shifts, the older man takes visible pride in explaining the details of the work he has done for decades, while Jevon sees the job as exploitation. The pairing of these two men from the same town, but with very different lives, gives the weekend an unexpected shape.
The film is a comedy-drama written and directed by Andrew Cohn, and it runs 90 minutes. Richard Jenkins plays Stanley, with Shane Paul McGhie as Jevon and Da'Vine Joy Randolph as Shazz. The cast also includes Birgundi Baker, Allison Tolman and Ed O'Neill, among 27 credited performers.
It was released on September 25, 2020, and was produced by Bona Fide Productions, Park Pictures Features and Whitewater Films. The worldwide box office came to about 1 million dollars. On TMDB, the film holds a rating of 5.7 out of 10 from 106 votes.
