Ladies of Steel

After killing her husband with a frying pan and planning to hide his body in the garden, 75-year-old Inkeri decides to experience true freedom before facing a potential prison sentence. She convinces her sisters, Sylvi and Raili, to accompany her on a journey through Finland toward Koli National Park. During the trip, Inkeri encounters various people and reflects on her youth, including her past romantic feelings and her early desire for a feminist revolution. This journey forces her to choose between traditional expectations and her own happiness.

This Finnish comedy-drama was directed by Pamela Tola, who later directed Alma – Life Must Be Beautiful in 2024. The screenplay was written by Tola and Aleksi Bardy.
