Bigbug

In 2045, artificial intelligence handles nearly every daily task, including in the slightly old-fashioned home of Alice. When a revolt by self-aware androids breaks out, the household robots decide to seal the doors and keep the humans inside for their own protection. Locked in together are a family that is not quite blended, an intrusive neighbour and her forward robot companion, all forced to get along as tensions rise and the uprising spreads outside.

Bigbug is a French science fiction comedy directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, who wrote the screenplay with Guillaume Laurant and produced it with Richard Grandpierre. It is the eighth feature Jeunet directed, arriving between The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet (2013) and Violette (2026). The cast is led by Elsa Zylberstein as Alice Barelli, Isabelle Nanty as Françoise, Claude Perron as Monique, Stéphane De Groodt as Max, Youssef Hajdi as Victor Barelli and Claire Chust as Jennifer, among 43 credited performers. It was made on a budget of about 14 million dollars.

Released in February 2022, the film runs 110 minutes. On IMDb it holds 5.5 out of 10 from roughly 11,000 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 5.3 out of 10 from some 494 votes. A critics' rating of 5.8 out of 10 from 36 reviews places critical response slightly above the audience scores, though all three measures sit in mixed territory.
