Six Minutes to Midnight

Set in the summer of 1939, Six Minutes to Midnight follows Thomas Miller, a teacher who takes a post at a seaside school in southern England where the pupils are the daughters of prominent Nazi families. The girls are there to learn English and to be groomed as representatives of the National Socialist future. Miller grows alarmed at what the school represents and tries to warn others, but the authorities turn their suspicion on him instead. His situation becomes more dangerous when a former teacher is found dead, and he finds himself accused of murder and espionage while attempting to evade capture.

The film is directed by Andy Goddard, who also wrote the screenplay with Eddie Izzard and Celyn Jones; it is his second feature, following A Kind of Murder in 2016. Izzard leads the cast as Miller, with Carla Juri, James D'Arcy, Celyn Jones, David Schofield and Jim Broadbent in supporting roles. It is a British production from West Madison Entertainment, Ffilm Cymru Wales and Mad as Birds, running 99 minutes.

Released in October 2020, the film has drawn modest responses from audiences, sitting at 6 out of 10 on IMDb from roughly 6,800 votes and 6.2 out of 10 on TMDB from around 197 votes.
