Scooby-Doo! Legend of the Phantosaur

Scooby-Doo and the gang head to a desert spa for some rest, but their holiday turns into a mystery involving a giant dinosaur-like creature. The Phantom Sauropod, as it is known, is said to be an ancient legend that guards treasure hidden in secret caves. Meanwhile, Shaggy undergoes hypnosis that leaves him unusually brave, a change that puts him face to face with the monster rather than running from it.

The film is a 2011 direct-to-video animated release from Warner Bros. Animation and Hanna-Barbera Productions, running 75 minutes. Ethan Spaulding directed it, following his earlier Scooby-Doo! Camp Scare and preceding later animated features such as Batman: Assault on Arkham and several Mortal Kombat Legends films. Doug Langdale wrote the screenplay, with Tony Cervone and Spike Brandt producing.

The voice cast features Frank Welker as Scooby-Doo and Fred, Matthew Lillard as Shaggy, Mindy Cohn as Velma, and Grey DeLisle as Daphne, along with Cathy Cavadini and John DiMaggio in supporting roles. Audience response has been favorable: on IMDb it holds a 6.7 rating from roughly 3,600 votes, while on TMDB it scores 7.7 from around 231 votes, a smaller and warmer sample. The film mixes comedy, family adventure and mystery, and sits within the long-running Scooby-Doo series of animated movies.
