Once Upon a Time in Ukraine

This action comedy follows a samurai named Akayo who travels to Ukraine to find Harimoto, a slave trader. Along the way, he encounters a serf named Taras, who is driven by his own desire for revenge and a wish to rescue his partner. Taras must undergo rigorous training to master the ways of the samurai and develop the willpower necessary to achieve his goals.

Written and directed by Roman Perfilyev, this production followed his 2018 film The Hill of Hell. The movie stars Roman Lutskyi as Taras Shevchenko, Serhiy Strelnykov as Akayo, and Gen Seto as Harimoto. Produced by Kristi Films, Star Media, and the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, the film had a budget of 27 million USD. It has received generally positive feedback from viewers, maintaining a 6.7 rating on IMDb based on 42 votes and a 6.4 rating on TMDB from 21 votes.
