Animaniacs: Wakko's Wish is an animated musical adventure set in a fairy-tale version of the Warnerstock kingdom, in the village of Acme Falls. The Warner siblings — Yakko, Wakko and Dot — live there under hard times, and when Dot falls ill, the three set out to find a fallen wishing star that can grant a wish. Word of the star spreads quickly, and the whole town, including a scheming king, wants to reach it first for wishes of their own. What follows is a race to the star, with the siblings trying to get there ahead of everyone else. The film grew out of the Animaniacs series and gathers many of its characters into one story.
The film was released in 1999 and runs eighty minutes. It was directed by Liz Holzman, Rusty Mills and Tom Ruegger, who also produced with Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment and wrote the screenplay with Nick DuBois and Earl Kress, with animation from Japan's TMS Entertainment. The voice cast includes Rob Paulsen, Jess Harnell, Tress MacNeille, Maurice LaMarche, Nancy Cartwright and Frank Welker, among twenty credited performers.
On IMDb it holds a rating of 7.1/10 from around 2,200 votes, and on TMDB a rating of 7.5/10 from 119 votes, indicating a generally favorable response across both audiences.
