Locked Down

Locked Down is a comedy-crime-romance set in London during the 2020 coronavirus lockdown. Linda and Paxton are a couple whose relationship has run its course; they had already decided to separate before the restrictions forced them to keep sharing the same flat. With the city's streets and shops empty, the two call a truce and turn their attention to Harrods, planning a jewellery robbery while the famous department store stands closed. Their bickering makes concentration difficult, and the scheme tests the pair in ways neither expected.

Doug Liman directed the film, the eleventh of the fourteen features he has made in chronological order, arriving between Chaos Walking and Road House. Steven Knight wrote the screenplay, and Anne Hathaway and Chiwetel Ejiofor play Linda and Paxton, with Stephen Merchant, Dulé Hill, Jazmyn Simon and Ben Kingsley among the supporting cast. The production, mounted by Warner Bros. Pictures with AGC Studios, Storyteller Productions and Hypnotic, cost about 10 million dollars.

Reception was lukewarm. On IMDb the film holds 5.3 out of 10 from roughly 14,000 votes, and on TMDB 5.2 out of 10 from about 322 votes, while a critics' rating stands at 5 out of 10 from 116 reviews. Those figures place the critical and audience responses close together, both in middling territory rather than at either extreme.
