The Sacrifice

Set during the final stages of the Korean War in 1953, this film follows soldiers of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army during the battle in Kumsong. To ensure that reinforcements and ammunition reach the front lines on time, the troops must protect and repair a strategic bridge while enduring constant aerial bombardments. The conflict centers on their struggle to overcome severe equipment shortages and limited supplies against a better-equipped enemy.

The movie was co-directed by Guan Hu, Lu Yang, and Frant Gwo. For Guan Hu, this was the fourth film in a sequence that began with Mr. Six in 2015. Lu Yang directed this after Brotherhood of Blades II: The Infernal Battlefield, and Frant Gwo followed The Wandering Earth: Beyond with this project. The cast features Zhang Yi, Wu Jing, Li Jiuxiao, Vision Wei, Deng Chao, and Ou Hao.

Produced in China, the film earned 174 million USD at the worldwide box office. Audience reception is mixed, with a rating of 5.5/10 on IMDb based on 1,300 votes and a score of 5.8/10 on TMDB from 58 votes.
