Short description
A group of English, American, Dutch and Australian women creates a vocal orchestra while being imprisoned in a Japanese POW camp on Sumatra during World War II.
What's left behind the scenes
- The film is based on real events. The plot is built on the memories of women who survived the horrors of captivity during World War II.
- In 1943 and 1944, women prisoners participating in the choir performed over 30 compositions. After that, there was a pause because half of the choir members had died, and the vocal abilities of those who survived did not allow them to be included in the choir.
