What's left behind the scenes
- In Mexico, the eponymous animated series was far more popular than in the US. Actor Jorge Arvizu, who voiced the 1960s series, also voiced the same characters here—Benny and Chu Chu (known in Mexico as Benito Bodoque and Cucho).
- Due to its extraordinary popularity, the eponymous 1960s animated series was broadcast on television in Mexico for many years. The filmmakers attempted to revive the classic characters for a modern generation. This marked the first time Warner Bros. allowed another company to use one of its characters in a film.
- This film is the first in the history of Anima (Mexico) and Illusion (Argentina) studios to be released in theaters in English.
- This is the first Flash-animated feature film ever released in RealD 3D.
- In the UK, this was the first 2D animated film distributed by Vertigo Films.
- This is the second time Anima studio has released a film in English in another country. The first was Kung Fu Magu (2010), which was released on DVD and aired on Disney XD, but did not have a theatrical release.
- The spiked wristband on the muscular dog (Don Gato) constantly jumps from his left arm to his right in every scene he appears in.
