The Colors of Fire

Set in Paris in February 1927, this historical drama follows Madeleine Péricourt as she inherits her father's vast financial empire. Her attempt to lead the company is derailed by a tragic action taken by her son, Paul, which leads her toward financial ruin. Facing corruption and a conspiracy by those around her to strip her of her wealth, Madeleine seeks to rebuild her life and enact revenge. She engages in a dangerous game of blackmail and the trade of secret technologies, aided by a private detective.

Directed by Clovis Cornillac, this was the third film he directed, following Blind Date in 2015 and Belle and Sebastian 3: The Last Chapter in 2018. The screenplay was written by Pierre Lemaitre. The film stars Léa Drucker as Madeleine Péricourt, with a supporting cast including Benoît Poelvoorde, Alice Isaaz, Fanny Ardant, Olivier Gourmet, and Cornillac himself as Lucien Dupré.
