Short description

Revered sushi chef Jiro Ono strives for perfection in his work, while his eldest son, Yoshikazu, has trouble living up to his father's legacy.

What's left behind the scenes

Eating sushi with your hands is acceptable. Many customers at Jiro's restaurant do so.
One scene demonstrates the correct way to dip sushi in soy sauce. The sushi should be turned upside down so that only the slice of fish touches the sauce. In restaurants catering to affluent clients, the chef himself brushes the sushi with soy sauce using a special brush.
