To Chiara

Chiara is fifteen and part of a close family in Gioia Tauro, in Calabria. Her older sister Giulia is turning eighteen, and the household gathers with friends to celebrate, the two girls trading turns on the dance floor. The mood shifts the following day, when their father Claudio vanishes. Chiara is not satisfied by the explanation the family offers, and she begins looking into what happened to him. The closer she gets to the truth about his disappearance, the more she has to weigh what she wants her own life to become.

Jonas Carpignano wrote and directed the film, which was made with production backing from companies in Italy, France, Denmark, Sweden and the United States on a budget of about three million dollars. It is a drama with elements of fantasy, and Carpignano cast members of the Rotolo family alongside Carmela Fumo in the principal roles. Swamy Rotolo plays Chiara, with Claudio Rotolo as Claudio, Grecia Rotolo as Giulia, Giorgia Rotolo as Giorgia and Antonio Rotolo as Antonio.

Released in October 2021, the film runs 121 minutes. On IMDb it holds a rating of 6.7 from roughly 2,700 votes, and on TMDB it stands at 6.8 from about 120 votes, pointing to a modest but consistent response from viewers across both platforms.
