She Said

She Said follows two reporters at The New York Times, Megan Twohey and Jodi Kantor, as they investigate allegations of sexual misconduct against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein. Persuading women to speak on the record proves difficult, since many had been bound to silence through settlements and confidentiality agreements. The film traces how the two journalists built the story and what its publication meant at a moment when longstanding silence around such abuse began to break.

Maria Schrader directed, working from a screenplay by Rebecca Lenkiewicz, with Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner among the producers. It was Schrader's second directed feature, after I'm Your Man in 2021. Carey Mulligan plays Twohey and Zoe Kazan plays Kantor, with Patricia Clarkson and Andre Braugher in supporting roles. The production was a large undertaking, with 70 credited cast members and 108 credited crew.

Released in November 2022, the film cost about 32 million dollars and returned roughly 14 million dollars worldwide. Audience response has been favorable, with a rating of 7.3 out of 10 on IMDb from around 49,000 votes and 7.1 out of 10 on TMDB from a smaller number of votes.
