Fire on the Plain

In the city of Fentun, a series of murders ceases abruptly before the police can identify the killer. Eight years after these events, a young officer who shares a personal connection with one of the victims chooses to restart the investigation into the cold cases. The narrative explores the intersecting lives of local residents, including a girl aspiring to leave her hometown and a troubled youth whose life changes after meeting a policeman.

Directed by Zhang Ji and written by Cao Liu, this Chinese crime mystery was produced by Diao Yinan.
