Supercell

William Brody is a teenager who has spent years hoping to follow his late father Bill, a well-known storm chaser, into the same line of work. While his mother, Dr Quinn Brody, has other ideas, William finds his father's old journals and decides to leave home and pursue storms himself. What he encounters instead is Zane Rogers, a greedy and reckless operator who has built a storm-chasing tourist business out of Bill's reputation. Zane uses William as the main draw for paying customers and pushes a group of unsuspecting adventurers toward an exceptionally dangerous supercell, putting everyone in the path of a storm far beyond what they expected.

Supercell is a 2023 American action drama directed by Herbert James Winterstern, who wrote the screenplay with Anna Elizabeth James. Daniel Diemer plays William, with Anne Heche as his mother and Alec Baldwin as Zane Rogers. The cast also includes Skeet Ulrich as Roy Cameron, Jordan Kristine Seamón as Harper Hunter and Richard Gunn as Bill Brody. It runs 100 minutes and was produced by Saban Films, Highland Film Group, Thomasville Pictures and Short Porch Pictures.

The film has drawn limited enthusiasm from viewers, sitting at 4.4 out of 10 on IMDb from around 4,000 votes and 5.7 out of 10 on TMDB from a much smaller base of 292. A critics' rating of 5.1 out of 10 across 16 reviews places it close to the audience scores, suggesting broad agreement about what the film delivers.
