Jerry & Marge Go Large

Jerry & Marge Go Large follows a retired Michigan couple who work out a flaw in how a state lottery is run. Jerry Selbee, the husband, has a head for numbers, and once he spots the opening he and his wife Marge begin playing systemically rather than by luck. The winnings mount into the millions, and the pair decide to share the opportunity with their neighbours, using the proceeds to lift up the small town they call home. The scheme's growing scale brings its own complications. The film is a comedy drama drawn from a true story, directed by David Frankel from a screenplay by Brad Copeland, and produced by Gil Netter and Amy Baer.

Bryan Cranston and Annette Bening lead as Jerry and Marge, with Rainn Wilson, Larry Wilmore, Michael McKean and Jake McDorman among the supporting cast. The production was handled by Paramount, MRC, Paramount Players and Netter Productions, and runs 96 minutes. It arrived in 2022, placing it between Collateral Beauty and The Devil Wears Prada 2 in the director's filmography.

Audiences have been warmer to the film than critics: on IMDb it holds 6.9/10 from roughly 34,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 7.4/10 from about 520 votes. The critics' rating stands at 6.1/10 from 57 reviews, noticeably below both audience scores.
