Timber Falls

Mike and Sheryl, a young couple from the city, head to the mountains of West Virginia for a weekend of camping and hiking. Their trip takes a turn when Sheryl disappears, and Mike's search for her leads him into the hands of hostile locals with a plan of their own for the pair.

Timber Falls is a 2007 American horror thriller directed by Tony Giglio, who wrote the screenplay with Daniel Kay. Released after In Enemy Hands and Chaos, it was one of five films Giglio directed between 2004 and 2019. The production, mounted for about 3 million dollars by Ascendant Pictures, A-Mark Entertainment, Rifkin-Eberts Productions and Film Tiger, runs 97 minutes. Josh Randall and Brianna Brown play the couple, with Nick Searcy and Beth Broderick as the locals they encounter. The cast also includes Sascha Rosemann and T.W. Leshner.

Audience response has been modest. On TMDB, the film holds a 5.6 rating from 196 votes, while a small group of 8 critics gave it 4.9 on average. The two figures sit close together, suggesting viewers and reviewers alike found it a middling example of the backwoods horror format.
