Hollow Man II follows a military experiment that goes wrong. A soldier, Michael Griffin, is made invisible as part of a programme aimed at producing the perfect covert operative, but the process leaves him mentally unstable and physically deteriorating. When a scientist connected to the project dies, Detective Frank Turner is assigned to protect Dr. Maggie Dalton, the biologist who may hold the key to Griffin's condition. Griffin, now out of control, hunts her while government figures try to keep the affair from surfacing. Frank is eventually left with only one option: to undergo the same treatment himself.
The film is a sequel to Paul Verhoeven's Hollow Man and was directed by Claudio Fäh, the first feature in his directing career. The screenplay is by Joel Soisson, and David Lancaster produced. Christian Slater plays Griffin, with Laura Regan as Maggie Dalton and Peter Facinelli as Frank Turner. The supporting cast includes David McIlwraith, Jessica Harmon and Sarah Deakins.
Released in 2006, the film runs 91 minutes. Its ratings place it low with viewers: on IMDb it holds 4.4 out of 10 from around 11,000 votes, and on TMDB 5 out of 10 from roughly 315 votes. A critics' rating of 3.3 out of 10 from six reviews is similarly negative, close to the audience scores.
