A wealthy woman named Mrs. Lee, a former actress worried about losing her looks and her husband's attention, pays a visit to Mei, a cook who prepares dumplings said to restore youth. The dumplings have become popular among middle-aged women, and Mei guards her recipe closely. Mrs. Lee's husband has been spending time with a younger masseuse, and she hopes the food will help win him back. What she discovers about how the dumplings are made changes everything.
Fruit Chan directed the film, working from a screenplay he wrote with Lilian Lee, with Peter Chan producing. It followed Chan's segment in the anthology Three... Extremes and stands among the features he made before a long gap that ended with Three Husbands. Miriam Yeung Chin-Wah plays Mrs. Lee, Bai Ling plays Mei, and Tony Leung Ka-fai plays Mr. Lee, with Pauline Lau, Meme Tian Pu-Jun and Miki Yeung Oi-Gan in supporting roles.
