F1 follows Sonny Hayes, a driver once seen as the great hope of Formula 1 in the 1990s until a serious crash ended his time at the top. Three decades on, he scrapes by in lower racing categories, living off the reputation he built before the accident. His former teammate Ruben Cervantes, now running the APXGP team at the bottom of the standings, persuades him to return and mentor Joshua Pearce, an ambitious young driver. Sonny soon finds that in Formula 1 a teammate can be a rival, and that a comeback carries risks of its own.

Joseph Kosinski directed, working from a screenplay by Ehren Kruger, with Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes and Damson Idris as Joshua Pearce. Javier Bardem plays Cervantes, while Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies and Kim Bodnia also appear. The film was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Films, Plan B Entertainment, Apple Studios and Monolith Pictures, with Kosinski, Chad Oman and Lewis Hamilton among the producers. It arrived after Kosinski's Top Gun: Maverick and Spiderhead, both from 2022, and it is a large-scale production with a budget of 300 million dollars and a worldwide gross of 634 million.

On IMDb the film holds 7.6 out of 10 from roughly 334,000 votes, and on TMDB it sits at 7.8 from about 4,700 votes. A critics' rating of 7.1 from 367 reviews places it somewhat below the audience scores. Running 156 minutes, it is an American action drama.
