Do Not Expect Too Much from the End of the World

Angela works long, poorly paid hours as a production assistant in Bucharest. Assigned by a multinational company to make a workplace safety video, she spends her days driving through the city and the surrounding country, interviewing people who have been injured on the job to choose one of them to appear on camera. The interviews keep escaping the neat corporate script she is meant to follow, and a statement by one of the interviewees forces her to rework the story to fit the company's image. Alongside this, Angela keeps up a caustic social media presence in which she hides behind a mask and plays a parody of a male influencer.

Radu Jude wrote and directed the film, which followed Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn in his filmography. Ilinca Manolache plays Angela, with Ovidiu Pîrșan, Nina Hoss, Dorina Lazăr and László Miske among the cast. Ada Solomon, Jude and Adrian Sitaru produced the film, a co-production drawing on nine countries, including Romania, Germany, Hungary, Luxembourg and France, with a runtime of 164 minutes.

The film was released in September 2023. On IMDb it holds a rating of 7.3 from around 6,100 votes, while on TMDB it has 6.9 from a much smaller number of votes. A film critics' rating of 8.4 from 82 reviews places it noticeably higher than the audience scores.
