Bad Ass

Frank Vega returns from service in Vietnam to find himself rejected by the country he fought for. Without work or a place in society, he drifts for decades. Forty years later, an altercation on a city bus changes things: he intervenes when two skinheads threaten a passenger, the episode is recorded, and he becomes a local celebrity. That turn of fortune does not last. When his closest friend is murdered and the police decline to pursue the case, Frank takes matters into his own hands.

Danny Trejo plays Frank Vega, with Charles S. Dutton as Panther, Ron Perlman as Mayor Williams, and Patrick Fabian as Officer Malark. Craig Moss directed and shares screenplay credit with Elliot Tishman. The film runs 91 minutes and was produced by Silver Nitrate and Amber Lamps.

Bad Ass is the first of five features Moss directed in the order listed, ahead of 30 Nights of Paranormal Activity With the Devil Inside the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and three later films. On TMDB it holds a rating of 5.8 from 444 votes. The film was released in April 2012.
