The Gorge

The Gorge follows two elite operatives stationed on opposite rims of a vast, concealed ravine. Miles Teller plays Levi and Anya Taylor-Joy plays Drasa, each assigned to a solitary guard post with no contact permitted between them. Over time the two develop a bond that crosses the distance dividing their posts. When a malevolent force stirs in the depths below, they must join forces to survive what the gorge holds.

The film is directed by Scott Derrickson and written by Zach Dean, with C. Robert Cargill, Dean and David Ellison producing. It is a production of Skydance, Crooked Highway and Apple Studios and was released in February 2025, running 128 minutes. Derrickson's earlier credits include Sinister, Doctor Strange and The Black Phone; this is the ninth film he has directed chronologically and followed Black Phone 2 in the same year. The supporting cast includes Sigourney Weaver as Bartholomew, Sope Dirisu as J.D., William Houston as Erikas and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith as a Black Ops Commander.

Made for a budget of 70 million USD, the film blends romance, science fiction and thriller elements. On IMDb it holds 6.7/10 from 166,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 7.7/10 from 4,216 votes; the smaller TMDB sample skews noticeably higher than the broader IMDb audience. A film critics' rating of 5.9/10 from 149 reviews places critical opinion below both audience scores.
