Fullmetal Alchemist: The Final Alchemy

Edward and Alphonse Elric have spent years searching for the Philosopher's Stone, hoping to restore what they lost through forbidden alchemy. As the brothers close in on the stone, they discover they are far from the only ones pursuing it, and their journey builds toward a confrontation with a threat that extends beyond their nation and reaches into something otherworldly.

Fullmetal Alchemist: The Final Alchemy is a Japanese action, adventure and fantasy film directed by Fumihiko Sori, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Takeshi Miyamoto. Produced by Yumiko Yoshihara for Aniplex, Warner Bros. Japan, Square Enix and Oxybot, it runs 142 minutes and was released on 24 June 2022. It is the fourth feature Sori directed, following Vexille, ICHI and Fullmetal Alchemist, and it belongs to a pair of 2022 releases, alongside Fullmetal Alchemist: The Revenge of Scar. Ryosuke Yamada leads the cast as Edward Elric, with Atomu Mizuishi as Alphonse, Tsubasa Honda as Winry Rockbell, Dean Fujioka as Roy Mustang, Mackenyu as Scar and Misako Renbutsu as Riza Hawkeye, among 32 credited cast members.

On IMDb, the film holds a rating of 5.5 from around 1,700 votes, while on TMDB its rating stands at 6.3 from roughly 219 votes. The larger vote count on IMDb suggests a broader audience response that is noticeably cooler than the smaller, more favourable sample reflected on TMDB.
