Half Light

Rachel Carlson is a successful crime novelist whose life falls apart after the death of her young son. Unable to write and carrying heavy guilt, she takes the advice of a friend and leaves the city for a remote cottage in a Scottish fishing village, hoping the change will let her work again. There she meets Angus, a local man, and begins to feel that she might recover. Strange visions and unsettling events around her village soon make her question what is real and what is not, and whether the danger she senses is in her mind or something outside it.

Half Light was released in 2006 and runs 110 minutes. Craig Rosenberg wrote and directed it, with Joel B. Michaels, Andreas Grosch and Steve Samuels producing for Lakeshore Entertainment and several partner companies across Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States. Demi Moore leads as Rachel, supported by Henry Ian Cusick, Kate Isitt, Nicholas Gleaves, James Cosmo and Jordan El-Balawi. The film sits within the drama, horror and thriller genres, and Rosenberg's screenplay work is more widely known than his directing credits, of which this is one of a small number.

Audience response has been moderate on both platforms: it holds a rating of 6 out of 10 on IMDb from roughly 15,000 votes, and 6.1 out of 10 on TMDB from a much smaller base of 326 votes. A critics' rating of 4.4 out of 10 from six reviews places professional assessment well below the audience scores, though the review sample is very small.
