Epic Movie

Epic Movie is a parody comedy that follows four orphans, each having survived a different adventure drawn from recent Hollywood hits: one raised in a museum full of art-world intrigue, another trained among mutants, a third marked by a snake attack on a plane, and a fourth from the world of Mexican wrestling. A golden ticket brings them together at a chocolate factory, and from there a wardrobe carries them into the magical land of Gnarnia, where they join forces with an unlikely pirate captain, a group of young magic students and a wise but lecherous lion to stand against the tyrannical White Bitch and her army.

The film was directed by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, who also wrote the screenplay, with Paul Schiff producing. It follows Seltzer's Date Movie in their chronological filmography and precedes Meet the Spartans, Disaster Movie, Vampires Suck, The Starving Games and Superfast! The cast includes Kal Penn, Adam Campbell, Jayma Mays, Faune Chambers, Jennifer Coolidge and Crispin Glover, among a credited cast of 105 and 53 credited crew. Made for a budget of 20 million USD, it took in 87 million USD worldwide.

Audience response was poor: on IMDb it holds 2.5/10 from around 113,000 votes, and on TMDB 3.9/10 from roughly 1,740 votes. A film critics' rating of 2.9/10 from 65 reviews places it in line with those audience scores.
