Short description
Casey Wells is a former Los Angeles drug dealer who has built a quiet new life in a Houston suburb as a married architect, with a wife and an adoption in progress. His old partner Nick turns up without warning, bringing heroin and underworld business into the house, and a stream of dangerous figures follows, looking for either the drugs or the money. Casey has to protect the respectable life he has made while his criminal past closes in.
Thursday is a 1998 American crime film written and directed by Skip Woods, his debut as director, and produced by Alan Poul. Thomas Jane plays Casey, with Paula Marshall as his wife Christine, Aaron Eckhart as Nick, James Le Gros as Billy Hill, Paulina Porizkova as Dallas and Michael Jeter as Dr. Jarvis, among a credited cast of twenty. It runs 87 minutes and mixes crime, action, comedy, drama, mystery and thriller elements.
The film opened on September 25, 1998. On IMDb it holds 7.1/10 from around 22,000 votes, and on TMDB 6.9/10 from 382 votes, indicating a modest but appreciative audience. A critics' rating of 5.1/10 from seven reviews is noticeably lower than those audience scores.

- Filming took place in Los Angeles from July 7 to August 7, 1997.
- Film critic Roger Ebert disliked this film so much that he publicly eviscerated it while discussing the films presented to audiences at the Toronto International Film Festival in the fall of 1998 on Siskel & Ebert. Ebert especially complained about the abundance of racial stereotypes and scenes of unprovoked violence in the film. The film had only a brief theatrical run and by 1999 was available exclusively on video cassettes and cable television.
- Paula Marshall began filming with Skip Woods as soon as she finished filming a season of the popular television series " Twisted City" (1996-2002) starring Michael J. Fox. In "Bloody Thursday," she wears the same hairstyle and dress as in the series (with the exception of flashbacks).
