What's left behind the scenes
- Initially, the show's creators wanted to use the classic Justice Society of America from DC Comics, but the publisher refused. Consequently, the creators had to reach a compromise. They came up with the Justice Guild of America—a new incarnation of the Golden Age Justice Society.
- Initially, the series was going to be called 'Justice League of America' after the immensely popular comic book series of the same name rebooted by Grant Morrison. Subsequently, however, it was decided to settle on the title 'Justice League' as it was more universal.
- As the plot develops, a romantic relationship emerges between Green Lantern and Hawkgirl. The producers decided to pair these characters together because they have much in common. They are both warriors: Green Lantern previously served in the US Marine Corps, and Hawkgirl belongs to a very warlike civilization. The romantic relationship between them was created solely for the series; nothing of the sort occurred in the comics.
- At the insistence of DC Comics, The Flash wears a darker shade of red than in the "Superman" series (1996), and the circle on his chest is black rather than yellow.
- Starting from the second episode, all episodes were filmed in widescreen format. In all episodes shown in full-screen mode, the image is cropped at the edges.
