What's left behind the scenes
- Before appearing in the series 'Andromeda,' Lexa Doig and Lisa Ryder starred in James Isaac's slasher 'Jason X' (2001); however, in that film, Lexa was human and Lisa was a robot, whereas in 'Andromeda,' it is the other way around.
- Kevin Sorbo, who played Captain Dylan Hunt, is the only actor to appear in all 110 episodes.
- The name Tira Anasazi refers to a prehistoric Native American culture that existed in the territory of the modern-day Southwestern United States.
- Actress and model Brandy Ledford once auditioned for the role of Andromeda, but Lexa Doig was ultimately cast. When Lexa could no longer film due to pregnancy (which occurred during the production of the 5th season), the show's writers created Doyle—a second AI avatar—and Ledford stepped into that role.
- After the death of Gene Roddenberry (1921-1991), materials from his archives passed to Majel Barrett (his wife, an actress and producer), and she brought two of his unrealized ideas to fruition. One became this series, and the second was the series "Earth: Final Conflict" (1997-2002).
- Seamus Harper's middle name is Zelazny. By giving him this name, the show's creators paid tribute to Roger Zelazny (1937-1995), an American science fiction writer.
- Screenwriter and executive producer Robert Hewitt Wolfe left the project because the studio decided they needed a less complex storyline and a greater focus on Kevin Sorbo's character at the expense of other characters.
