What's left behind the scenes

One of the characters was based on Ranbir Kapoor's role in Ayan Mukerji's musical melodrama 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' (2013).
Mrunal Thakur left the project once she realized that her character would no longer bring anything new to the series.
The series creator and producer, Ekta Kapoor, rejected five different script versions before she was finally completely satisfied. She changed screenwriters four times and forced them to rewrite the script.
The source of inspiration for series creator and producer Ekta Kapoor was Ang Lee's melodrama 'Sense and Sensibility' (1995), based on the novel by Jane Austen.
One of the characters is based on Shah Rukh Khan's character in Aditya Chopra's romantic comedy 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' (2008).
