Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday
Short description
An FBI task force tracks down Jason Voorhees and destroys him with explosives, apparently ending the killer's long trail of murders. The remains are taken for examination, and it is during that procedure that Jason returns, able to move from one body to another by taking over whoever he touches. As he works his way through a series of victims while searching for a way to restore himself, the bounty hunter Creighton Duke pursues him, and a young woman named Jessica Kimble, descended from Jason's family, becomes central to stopping him.
The film is a horror thriller from 1993, directed by Adam Marcus in his first feature and the earliest entry in his directing career. Kane Hodder plays Jason, with John D. LeMay as Steven Freeman, Kari Keegan as Jessica Kimble, Steven Williams as Creighton Duke, Steven Culp and Erin Gray among the credited cast of twenty-five. Jay Huguely and Dean Lorey wrote the screenplay, and Sean S. Cunningham, a producer on the earlier films in the series, produced it with Debbie Hayn-Cass.
Made for about three million dollars, it took roughly sixteen million worldwide. On IMDb it holds a 4.1 rating from more than thirty-six thousand votes, and on TMDB a 4.6 from over a thousand. A critics' rating of 4.3 from nineteen reviews places it close to the audience scores.
