The Money Pit

Walter and Anna, a couple living in New York, need a new place after moving out of the apartment of Anna's ex-husband, an orchestra conductor. Money is tight, so when a friend in real estate offers them a large country house at an unusually low price, they take the deal. What waits for them is a home that begins falling apart almost as soon as they move in, and the repairs swallow their savings while testing their relationship and drawing interference from Anna's wealthy former husband.

Tom Hanks and Shelley Long play Walter and Anna, with Alexander Godunov as Max Beissart, Maureen Stapleton as Estelle, Joe Mantegna as Art Shirk and Philip Bosco as Curly; 43 cast members and 85 crew are credited.
