Driven

Driven is an action drama centered on Jimmy Bly, a gifted but struggling rookie race car driver. Bly suffers a decline in his rankings due to the psychological pressure from his ambitious brother and a romantic entanglement with the girlfriend of his primary rival. To stabilize the young driver, team owner Carl Henry hires Joe Tanto, a veteran former racing champion. Tanto must confront the trauma of a previous near-fatal accident to successfully mentor Bly and return him to the top of the sport.

The film was directed by Renny Harlin as the 10th of 28 films in his career, following Deep Blue Sea and preceding Mindhunters. The screenplay was written by Sylvester Stallone and Jan Skrentny. Stallone also produced the film and stars as Joe Tanto alongside Burt Reynolds, Kip Pardue, Stacy Edwards, Til Schweiger, and Gina Gershon.

Produced by Warner Bros. Pictures and other companies, the movie had a budget of 94 million USD but earned 55 million USD at the worldwide box office. Audience reception is mixed, with a rating of 4.6/10 on IMDb from 45,000 votes and 5.2/10 on TMDB from 855 votes. These figures are slightly higher than the film critics' rating, which stands at 3.9/10 based on 111 reviews.
