Cradle 2 the Grave

Tony Fait leads a crew of professional thieves who pull off a raid on a cache of rare black diamonds. The stones draw the attention of Su, a Taiwanese government agent who has been tracking them across the world, and of Ling, a ruthless arms dealer and Su's former partner. When the diamonds slip out of Fait's hands and end up with another criminal outfit, Ling abducts Fait's young daughter Vanessa and demands the jewels as ransom. With nothing left to trade, Fait must join forces with Su, who is pursuing both the diamonds and a personal reckoning with Ling, to get the girl back.

Andrzej Bartkowiak directed the film, his third feature after Romeo Must Die and Exit Wounds, working from a screenplay by John O'Brien and Channing Gibson and producing with Joel Silver. Jet Li plays Su and DMX plays Anthony Fait, with Gabrielle Union, Anthony Anderson, Tom Arnold and Paige Hurd among the cast. The production cost about 25 million dollars and took in roughly 57 million worldwide.

Audience response has been modest: on IMDb the film holds 5.8/10 from over 46,000 votes, and on TMDB 6.1/10 from about a thousand votes. A film critics' rating of 4.6/10 from 125 reviews places it below both audience scores. Bartkowiak went on to direct Doom, Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li and Maximum Impact.
