Natasha Korolyuk is a musically gifted woman who leaves her small hometown after graduating from a conservatory. Her trajectory changes when she marries Alexander, a pianist, and relocates to Moscow. However, Natasha eventually discovers that her husband is an unremarkable man with a lazy, bohemian lifestyle. Unwilling to accept this future, she decides to leave him and return to her place of origin.
